Commemorating Saint Bartholomew's Massacre

This coin was originally minted in 1572, which took place earlier that same year. It shows an angel standing over the bodies of dead Huguenots. 

The coin we acquired has an imperfection (highlighted in red) and was struck in the 1600's. This same coin was restruck multiple times.
